Best Remix Production Award – Hindernis for remix of “3AM” by JUNG

Presented by La Roux and Prism Sound, the Best Remix Production Award is awarded to the producer and remix track that came top in the technical aspects as well as scoring the highest overall. The judges looked at the skills shown in sound design and the dynamics of the mix.

Both the winning producer and their original artist are presented with a Prism Sound Lyra interface, a “Total Studio Max” software package from IK multimedia, custom ear protection from ACS Custom and a yearly subscription to Sound on Sound magazine!

As the overall winner, Hindernis was awarded the full prize package. So, alongside the Prism Sound Lyra, IK multimedia software, ACS Custom ear protection and SoS Subscription, a pair of Amphion one15 monitors, 8 GIK “Acoustics Package One” room treatment panels, a pair of Audio Technica ATH M70X monitor headphones, an Audio Technica AT4050 Mic and A ROLI Seaboard RISE all went home with him!

Best Remix Arrangement Award – SixDec for remix of “Open Up Your Eyes” by Mad Hearts

Presented by Matt Schwartz, the Best Remix Arrangement Award is awarded for its merits on song structure; how the remix fits together as a whole. Remixes were scored on how the song progresses and how the it flows from one section to the next. Does it grip the listeners’ attention?

The most Imaginative Remix award, presented by Judge Talvin Singh OBE is awarded to the remix that is deemed by the judges to be the most surprising or original use of the original track.

Public Choice Award – Massive Dynamic for remix of “I Need You” by Zangba

The Public Choice Award, presented by Nicola Freitas of Sliding Doors PR, a representative of Minirigs, is given to the remix that the public chose as their favourite!

Album Remix Tracks

Presented by judge Hugh Hardie, Chris Read of Whosampled.com, Lucinda Moore of Sound on Sound Magazine, Jono Heale of ACS Custom and Ed forth of Audio Technica, these are the tracks that came top as a recult of the judges scoring. They will all be released on the B-Side Project annual digital album on B-Side Recordings through Republic of Music. The original artists will receive an equal split of the revenue from the record sales. All producers receive ACS Custom Ear Protection.
